The ORegAnno database has three roles designed to help annotate and verify the data.
- USER ROLE:
A user is allowed to annotate new records and make
comments on existing records. Users are responsible for entering the majority of new data
in ORegAnno
- VALIDATOR ROLE: A validator is allowed to modify (deprecate) any record
creating a new one in its place and to score a record based on cross-referencing the
associated citation (as to whether the annotation can be confirmed, or is inaccurate)

- ADMIN ROLE: An administrator assigns roles and can add new evidence
classes, types, and subtypes to the database as well as batch upload sets of records contributed
from high-throughput experiments. The administrator can also start new datasets within
ORegAnno. The administrator when logged on has a special interface that
allows these functions.

To upgrade your role to Validator or Admin send a request to the
ORegAnno mailing list
