Dataset Description

Dataset: Estrogen Receptor Alpha Binding Sites (OREGDS00011)
Description: A genome-wide analysis of the DNA binding sites of ER-alpha as present in the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line is presented and these sites are mapped to transcripts regulated by estrogen. A chromatin immunoprecipitation-paired end diTag cloning and sequencing strategy was used and 1,234 high probability binding sites were identified using an algorithm that minimizes false positives from amplified regions of the genome. That 94% of a sample of these sites could be validated by standard ChIP suggests that the majority of the 1,234 sites identified by ChIP-PET represent bona fide binding regions for ER-alpha. Note: sites obtained from Table S1 (http://genetics.plosjournals.org/archive/1553-7404/3/6/supinfo/10.1371_journal.pgen.0030087.st001.xls)
